If I wanted to change my body after 40,

Hey Reader

And no, none of them involve eating less and doing more cardio.

  1. Lift heavier. 3–4 days a week. Think 5–6 exercises, 3–4 sets, mostly 6–12 reps. And please progressively overload. If you’ve been lifting the same weights for the same reps for the last year, give your body a reason to change. We need muscle in midlife. For our metabolism, our bones, our strength and how our body actually looks and feels.
  2. Insulin resistance matters more after 40. For some women, insulin sensitivity can decline through the menopause transition. So I’d stop grazing all day. Eat real meals with 30–40g of protein and aim for roughly 4 hours between meals instead of constantly snacking. And no, this isn’t about being afraid of insulin. We want your body to be more insulin sensitive. Strength training, good sleep and moving after meals all help too.
  3. Walk for 10–15 minutes after you eat. It’s ridiculously simple and it works. Moving after a meal helps your muscles take up glucose and can reduce the post-meal blood sugar spike. And if you don’t have time for a walk? Move anyway. Take the stairs. Do some squats. Clean the kitchen. Do calf raises while you’re brushing your teeth. It doesn’t have to be a “workout” to count.

This is what I mean when I say tweaks, not an overhaul.

You don’t need to punish your body into changing after 40.

You need to understand it.

Work with your body, not against it.

And yes Reader… I still want you feeling incredible in your body 😉

Hey Reader For decades women have been told the same thing. Run more. Do more cardio. Burn more calories. Sweat more. The image of the "fit woman" has almost always been someone pounding the pavement, spinning on a bike, or spending endless hours in cardio classes. The problem? That image was created by marketing. Not physiology. The Real Reason Your Body Is Changing One of the biggest frustrations I hear from women over 40 is this: " Fred I'm eating less than ever, exercising more than ever,...
